Valentine's, Volunteers, Victories, and Verdicts

Valentine's

Sorry it's been a while since my last post, it has been a little crazy. Valentine's was fun for the girls this year. Avary got to make a Valentine's box for her preschool. It was really fun. I think she used just about every sticker I got out for her.

She was really pleased with her self. It actually turned out really cute. I remember when we did that in grade school. We would have the paper doilies that the teachers would bring. It brought back a lot of memories, it was fun to make a new one with Avary. While Avary was making her box, CJ was doing her own craft project. If you look closely, there is a bug sticker on the end of the tongue (that was her own idea):
Spencer and I went out the Saturday before Valentine's, naturally, and we had a lot of fun. We went and ate dinner at Ruby Tuesday's (ate way too much) and then we went to Chili's for dessert (because Ruby Tuesday's has crappy desserts). When we got home we were both so full, we were in pain and not enjoying it at all. The girl's got stuffed flowers from the Cupid. When they woke up on Sunday, they were wrapped around their beds and they were so happy.

Volunteers

CJ and Avary are starting to take on more responsibilities. I guess this could also fall under the "Victories" category, but what I am really impressed about is how they help without being asked. They are both making their beds in the morning all by themselves, they do a pretty good job too, and they are both helping with the dishes.

CJ got up from dinner one night and started to help my Mom put the dirty dishes in the sink. We were so proud of her. We are still having a little trouble getting them to clean the playroom, but when they do clean it, they clean it really good. I can't believe my girls are growing up so fast!!

Victories

Avary is now in the same swimming class as CJ. She has really soared through her swimming classes. I think she takes after me in the arena (grin). We are really impressed with how well she is doing.

In our ward there are at least six or seven pregnant women and they are ALL having boys, no joke. I was "hired" to do some baby shower cakes. This is a picture of the first baby shower cake I have done, the next one is this week:
I think it is probably the cutest cake I have done so far. It turned out cuter than I had imagined and they were really pleased with it. It tasted way yummy too!

Verdicts

So, after two weeks of being off my really powerful antibiotic, I got ANOTHER sinus infection. When I went to the doctor, who hired me to do her son's 2nd birthday cake, she dropped the bomb that I need to have surgery. The bone spur in my nose is preventing the drainage I need to get rid of all the mucus that is causing the infections, so she is going to go in and remove the spur. I'm excited about not being sick anymore, I have had a sinus infection for 5 months now, but I am NOT excited about the pain and aftermath of surgery. I won't be able to blow my nose for two weeks and I have to sneeze with my moth open so I don't blow out my stitches. She told me that there is a 90% chance this will cure me. I hope I don't fall in the 10%. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

Such darling girls and crafts! The cake too! You always do amazing work on all your cakes!! So when is this dumb surgery you are obligated to have going to be? GROSS!! How long will you be laid up? How big is the bone spur & where is it growing in that nose of yours??!! We feel for you - sounds like you, Spencer and the girls have had a long haul of sicknesses & being miserable!
