Before and After

So, at the end of April we got a letter from our HOA saying that we need to paint our house. This was bittersweet. Bitter in the fact that we really wanted to use that money to pay off debt and sweet in the fact that I could FINALLY change the color of my house. (I hate blue.  ESPECIALLY next to another blue house.) Well, after a funeral, baptism, blessing, about 5 painters quotes, and a month waiting to hear back from our HOA, we got it done.

Our house before:

Our house After:

I'm so happy.  SUCH a difference!  We have been getting a lot of compliments on it and all the cars that drive past slow down and we catch them looking, it's pretty funny.  Our beautiful house.....

Now I need to get the yard done.  Hmmm........

Happy Father's Day!

Well, I do believe Spencer had a good Father's Day today.  It started with cinnamon rolls and milk at church instead of cookies and ended with one of his favorite desserts, berry shortcake.  All the stuff that happened in between was pretty fun.  He was able to get his nap, in fact we ALL got a nap today and I think that made all the difference.

I love these kind of pictures.  I have so many of Spencer asleep with the girls that whenever he naps with Reed, I steal my chance and start shootin'.  My boys, they are so sweet.  Anyway, after our naps, CJ had the idea to make Father's Day hats.  I thought that was pretty clever of her so Spencer sat down with the girls and started to make hats.

The girls had found the paper and everything and they all made hats while I cooked dinner.

They even made one for me and and my mom.

In order from left to right:  Top row:  the "Queen Chef", the "Queen Mutha"; Bottom Row: the "Second Princess", the "King", the "Little Prince", the "First Princess".  (The girls named us, can you tell??)  It was fun.  I'm glad that they made hats, it really added to the day.

After a pot roast dinner (Spencer loves my pot roast), we had him open his present:

We gave him a Work basket.  Everything in the basket was for his work.  He got food that he could take for lunches and he got 4 new work shirts.  He really liked it, he was out of food at work and wanted to go shopping, but I beat him to the punch.  After he opened his present we had the berry shortcake.  It was really yummy and we all have enjoyed the day.

Spencer is such an amazing dad and husband.  We are so lucky to have him in our lives.  He has blessed me with 3 BEAUTIFUL children and he works so hard to keep us going.  He makes us laugh every day, even if he doesn't try to.  He helps so much at home and is always willing to take over for me when things get too overwhelming.  He is a million more things than I can even say but most importantly he is the love of my life, one in a million, and I couldn't have found a more perfect man.  I love you so much Spencer.

Happy Father's Day!

2011 Ballet Recital and Other Fun Stuff

So the girls had their Ballet Recital last weekend. It was so good! We are SO proud of them. CJ danced to the Golden Ticket song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It was SO cute. Avary danced to a really pretty instrumental song that was very sweet. We are really proud of them.

A couple weeks ago we got some very special visitors. My nephew, Jake my oldest brother Spike's son, had contacted me on facebook and asked if we would mind entertaining him and his son, Daniel, for a couple hours. Of course I said yes! I haven't seen Jake in forever and I have NEVER met my great-nephew Daniel. Spike drove in from Kansas to pick Daniel up and then they went to the airport to pick up Jake. It was SO fun! I am so glad that they were able to come and visit with us. My mom was in Utah at the time so we got them all to ourselves which was pretty darn cool!

I sure love these guys. Daniel was a hoot! I just fell in love with that little dude. The girls really had a great time with him as well.

Well, my doula is officially paid off. She contacted me not too long ago and asked for the last payment on her services, which was a cake for her sons birthday. He wanted a dragon cake and it had to be a specific dragon, Terrible Terror from How To Train Your Dragon. Of course it had to be a hard one.

I think it turned out pretty OK, considering I can't draw worth a lick. It certainly isn't perfect, but he knew what it was and that was ALL that mattered.

Well that is it for now.  More stuff to come so stay tuned!
