So, I know it has been a while since I posted on our blog, but to be honest with you nothing really has been going on with us. We haven't been too "eventful" here in the Schumann household. I thought I would just catch you all up on what HAS happened and other random things before the baby is born since there WILL be a lot to talk about there.
Good News
We found out the last part of January that Spencer was approved for a promotion and a raise. We sorta knew about the promotion but weren't expecting much of a raise, but they surprised us and gave him a great raise. I am so proud of him. He was made Staff Engineer and also put in charge of a small team. Shortly before that he was also hired as a private consultant for a company he worked with in Utah so he can work from home. It is so strange living with sometimes not enough to get groceries to being able to get groceries AND pay off debt. I'm still a little "shell shocked" and trying to figure out every other week what I have forgotten to pay. We have been praying and fasting for a while for help and guidance and now our prayers have been answered.
Randomness
One morning while the girls were out of school, I was calling to CJ to do something, I can't remember what, but she answered me from my room saying "Just a minute". I wondered what she was doing in my room, she knew better than to play in there. So, I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was making my bed for me. I was stunned. She went down to my room all by herself and decided to make my bed for me. I was so touched I had tears in my eyes. Avary thought that that was a good idea and offered to help. When I went down there to see the good job they did, they were naming all my pillows, "This one is Daddy, this one is Mommy, this one is me (CJ), this one is Avary, and this one is Reed!" It was so adorable. When they were done, Avary looked at me and said, "Do we get money now??" I was so taken back that she would ask that. I told her no because then it wouldn't mean as much to me because they had offered. CJ piped up and said, "Yep! It is a service!" I love my girls. Here is a picture of the job they did:
I was REALLY proud of them, especially since the bed goes up to their necks. They did an AWESOME job!
On another note, the girls were playing in their room one day and loving all their stuffed animals. They called out to Spencer to take a picture before they went to bed and, well, here it is:
They never really got into dolls. All the dolls that we have have been stripped of all their clothes and now their stuffed animals wear the clothes. Go figure.
And last but not least, I did another cake for our birthing class instructor. Her son was turning 5 I believe and he wanted a world cake. I thought it turned out pretty good:
He really liked it. He was so excited when he saw it and so was she.
Well, I believe this will be the last post until I have this little dude. Ta ta for now.
