Avary started pre-school today. She was so excited to go. She has been wanting to go to school for a couple years now. I'm glad we got her into a pre-school. She isn't crying in this picture I promise. The sun was in her eyes so she couldn't look at me, but it shows the name of the school:
Yes, it is a rec center. They have a pre-school there that actually seems nicer than the one CJ went to. It is really open and bright and they have a door to the outside playground right in their room, they don't have to cross the parking lot like CJ had to. She was sure milking the picture taking for all it was worth:
When we got into her room, they gave her a name badge and she went right to "work":
Playing of course is hard work when you are almost 4. When my mom picked her up, she said that she was really grumpy. They REALLY needed to sleep in this morning, but something tells me that they will sleep in a little longer tomorrow. I hope she get acclimated to going to pre-school quickly. She only goes 2 days a week, but if she is anything like her mommy she will be tired by just one class a week.

Sleep Over
The girls had their first official sleep over last night. Sabrina, their cousin, got to come over and sleep over last night because her parents, Rachel and Anthony, got a bee in their bonnet and decided to run in a marathon. (Just kidding you guys!) Seriously though they ran in a marathon today and we watched their kids for them. Sabrina and the girls really had a great time having their first sleep over. We had corn on the cob, sloppy joes, weird watermelon, and cookies for dinner last night. Then we stayed up until 10pm watching Bolt. We had a great time. This morning Rachel and Anthony dropped off their little boy at 5:15am so they could get to Georgetown on time. That little boy is so stinkin' cute!
Bless his little heart, he went right back to sleep after they dropped him off. THANK YOU OLIVER!!!!! When the girls woke up this morning, too soon, we had pancakes and fresh peaches for breakfast. Oliver really chowed on the peaches, but he didn't care too much for the pancakes. We gave the girls a bath and it was a little snug in our tub for about 10 minutes:
But they enjoyed it anyway. After the bath I unfortunately had to leave for work, but by the sounds of it they all had a great time. Spencer turned them loose in the back yard with a water toy for a while. Then he let them go back out side in their play clothes and played with the water "gums", as Avary would call them:
I'm so glad that we were able to have them over to our house. We all really did have fun. The girls can't wait until we can have another one.

1st Grade!
CJ started first grade today. (The parents stood around reminissing about when we all started school after Labor day, this is REALLY early.) I can't believe she is ALREADY in first grade. I was not prepared for her to start school so soon. I was talking to her last night about going back to school and it seemed like she had grown up over night. I can't wait for school to be over so I can enjoy my kids.
She was really excited to go back to school. I packed her lunch wich she is holding in the picture, and I literally STUFFED her backback FULL of all the supplies they had us provide this year. I don't remember ever having to stuff my backpack full of school supplies in grade school. Anyway, I wish I had gotten a picture of it, it was REALLY stuffed. She put it on this morning and lost her balance, it was pretty funny. Avary helped me drop her off at school this morning and was sad when we had to leave. Avary wants to be in first grade too, she says. We really hope she does well in school this year, adjusting to the full day schedule thing. We are really lucky because her first grade teacher was her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Pacheco. She knows CJ pretty well, so I hope that works to our advantage.
I picked her up from school and she looked hammered.
She put her backpack on her head and started wondering around a little bit.
I think she was ready to go home. I have mixed feelings about first grade. I am really excited for her, but I am also worried about her and wishing I was a fly on the wall to see how she is REALLY doing. Oh well. We all have to let go at some point, right?
