Tornado

Well, it happened. We had a tornado touch down near our house today. We were at church when we heard the sirens. They had us all pile in the cultural hall. I hate hearing the sirens, my stomach always twists and I worry about my family. I'm glad that we were at church though because by the looks of things I think the girls would have been really scared here at home. When we got home, the house was still standing. Thank heavens, but when we walked through the door Jersey had had the poop literally scared out of her and she was a little OVER anxious. Then I took a look outside....the chard looked alright except for this:

This WAS our best looking tomato plant:

What is left of our cucumbers:

Our butternut squash plant:

What used to be a very beautiful basil plant that we JUST bought on Friday:

Hail that I found in our backyard:

It will be a miracle if any of it recovers. The corn still looks great and like I said the chard is alright and the carrots, but I don't know about the other stuff. I'm really sad and upset about our garden, but I am SO grateful that our house is still in tact.

Spencer's cousin Rachel was in church as well and their ward house is right where the tornado went through. She told me that it was really loud and the hail was the size of baseballs. I asked her if she had seen it. She said no, but she said that it was really loud and scary. She said that they all gathered in the chapel and hall and sang Hymns because it was so scary. I'm really glad they were alright. She said that there were roofs torn off of the houses by the ward building. If you all want to check it out you can go to 9 News.
