Some More Fun

Well, we are the proud boarders of three new birdies. They have set up home and bathroom on our front porch, as you can see. The girls really enjoy seeing the birds every morning. We hear them all day long. It really is quite cute except for the poop EVERYWHERE!!

Yesterday, Friday, it was such a nice and HOT day that I took the girls to the little park just around the corner from our house. They have a little "water park" there and they sure had fun. Avary actually got soaked along with CJ. They really enjoyed splashing in the puddles that form there.

They were using my shoes for boats in the puddles as well. It was all great until I caught CJ playing with something that is definitely NOT to play with. I saw her pick something out of one of the puddles that looked like a string. She dropped it, picked it back up and then dropped it again. She just sat there playing when I saw a little girl grab my shoe that CJ was playing with and take off with it. I went over to see what she was doing and I just about died. I told her that what she was playing with wasn't to be played with and if she knew what it was. She looked up at me with her beautiful, innocent, blue eyes and said, "Um, yes. It is a booger." I wanted to throw up. Anyway, after that, the day got better.

Tonight, Spencer decided to try and put his hammock up in our back yard. (Never mind that the sprinklers will be going on in a couple hours.) Anyway, it was quite amusing. The first attempt he ended up on the ground.

The second time he had raised the hammock by tightening the ropes.

It seemed like it would work until he sat in it.

He not only hit the ground, but as he sat in it the ropes started to snap.

What a guy.

Water Fun

CJ started swim lessons on Saturday. I think she really enjoyed getting back into the water. She seems to really like her teacher and I think she did really well considering she hasn't been in lessons for a year. When the kids were done, all the teachers brought the kids over to the parents on some kind of floating thing. CJ was brought over on a cow and she had a LOT of fun on that thing. She didn't want to get off.

After lessons, the whole household went to the Farmers Market at the pedestrian mall in South Aurora/Centennial.

They have a water thing in the middle of the market place that we thought the girls would have fun at. CJ had a blast, while Avary had a blast watching CJ.

We kept trying to get Avary to go running through the water, but she kept saying that the water was scaring her. I guess I can understand that. It was such a beautiful day that day. The perfect day to go running through the water.

Anyway, as soon as CJ was worn out and done, Avary started to get a little adventurous.

I got Avary close to the water by asking her to get my shoes wet. That is what she is carrying. It sure felt good on my feet. I think they had fun. They both took really long naps when we got home. I didn't mind. All in all it was a fun day.

Final Grades and More!!

Well, the results are in and here are my final grades for my third quarter at school:

Legal Issues............................A
Leadership..............................A
Speech....................................A
Business Communications.......A
College Algebra......................A-

(Where that "A-" came from, I don't know, but oh well.)

I also finished a quilt that I made for Avary's animals. Here are some pictures of the front and the back.

While I was making it, CJ kept asking me if I had messed it up yet. Where does she get these things???!!!! Anyway, I quilted it myself and now I would say that I messed it up. It was the first time I ever quilted with my machine. It is a good thing that it is just for her animals or else I would feel really bad. Oh well, C'est La Vie.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. Today has been a good day so far, no broken bones.....yet. (If you all remember, Avary broke her arm on Mother's Day.) Anyway, the weather is just excellent here.

I am cooking Spencer one of his favorite meals to honor him today, a pot roast with mashed potatoes and veggies. I hope dessert turns out though because I am just throwing some things together. In a sense it will be a chocolate pudding pecan pie, or something like that. Cross you fingers.

For Father's Day the girls and I gave him the best present that I think I will ever get for him. He got a giant Homer Pez dispenser.

It seemed fitting considering he likes Pez and the Simpsons. What I DIDN'T know was that the Homer Pez dispenser talks. So when Spencer flips the head back........

....it says things like, "Why you little...." and "DOH!", and "I know I shouldn't be eating this...". After we found that out, it was definite that that was the perfect gift for him. Now the girls are going around quoting Homer, "DOH!".

Our first post!

Hello everybody, welcome to our blog. First of all I would like to say that we are grateful that you have chosen to visit our page. We are really excited about this and we hope we can keep it up. Just to apologize in advance, since this is our first post, I am afraid it will be a little lengthy, but I will try to keep it entertaining.

Summer has started for us here in Colorado. Not just weather wise, but I have officially started my summer break from school!!! I am so excited! I have really needed this break. I get a whole month off and I am looking forward to every second. I haven't got my grades yet, but by next week I should have them.

This quarter was a rough one. I had three Bachelor's classes and two general classes. The Bachelor's classes really took a lot of time away from the family, thus I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to do the Bachelor's program, but instead I will be doing the Associate's in Baking and Pastries. We are really excited about this because this is more of what I really want to do. With changing my major, it won't take me three and a half years, plus another six months to do the Baking and Pastries program, instead I should be finished next year. This only makes me even more excited.

Avary got her cast off today. She seems to be doing great without it and she will be able to play in the water now.

We finished our grow boxes a couple of weeks ago and our plants are starting to show their pretty little leaves.

Aren't they beautiful!!??!! Spencer worked SO hard in getting them done. We haven't had any problems with bunnies yet, and we have made extra efforts so that we won't have problems with bunnies. Spencer put netting around all the boxes, except the herb box, to keep animals out. He did a brilliant job. Spencer's family visited us over Memorial Day weekend and they really helped Spencer get it done. Thank you you guy's!!

While the Schumanns were here, we went to the zoo. They had peacocks walking around throughout the zoo and the girls were walking around mimicking them.

It was really cute. Denver has an AWESOME zoo. I can't wait to go back.

We have also discovered that Avary can touch her nose with her tongue. She loves to show everybody.

Anyway, there is our little update. I promise the other blogs won't be so long, unless something big happens.
